Abs After Pregnancy

“Flatten Your Abs After Pregnancy”

You better flatten your abs after pregnancy ! There is nothing worse than running into someone and having them ask you when the baby is due and your answer is, “He was born 3 months ago.”  Believe me, I’ve heard those questions and I’ve been horrified by my answers but that is not something that everyone who gives birth will have to face.

There are great exercises that you will be able to do in an effort to flatten your abs after pregnancy that can be done on your own time and without much thought.

Before any exercising is started, you must be sure with your doctor that you are not in any danger by working out.  No two deliveries are alike.  No two pregnancies are alike.  You will need to meet with your own doctor and discuss your own situation before you start dreaming of nice flat abs.

Many women will be asked not to exercise right away because of a cesarean section, where the abdominal muscles are cut in order to deliver the baby.  Sometimes just lifting the baby for the first few weeks after a c-section is the only exercise the doctor may want you to do.  Just be smart and check before getting yourself involved in any strenuous exercise regime.

One of the best exercises that you can start with is walking.  It is such a gift to be able to get outside after the baby is born and walk with your newborn in a carriage.  After I had my son, the winter was soon upon us and walking outside in New England in the winter time can become problematic with snowstorms and ice storms so I had to find another outlet.  What I would do is meet my friends at the mall, there were five new mothers that I met, we all had new babies around the same age and we would walk the halls of the mall.  We often had many people stopping us to look at the babies and everyone made comments about how smart we were to be getting some exercise in!  They didn’t know we were secretly dying for our flabby abs to get tight again.  But we made the most of it.

Stretching is another safe exercise that most people can start working on right away.  The thing to really keep in mind when you’re looking to flatten your abs after pregnancy is to work with your doctor and be patient.  It took several months for your abs to stretch while your child grew, don’t be impatient to have them slim and trim too soon after the baby arrives.  For some great ideas and ideal exercise programs that will help you flatten your abs after pregnancy, Click Here.
