One of the biggest obstacles I came in contact with when I had my children (who are a mere 15 months apart!) was finding the time to get active and one that wouldn’t cost me a fortune.  With two babies under the age of two, I know I wasn’t leaving my home very often so going to a gym, which I never liked anyway, was out of the question.  Besides, going to a gym meant being in the throes of women who wear a full face of makeup and skimpy outfits.  Let’s be honest, most of these women are not at the gym to get rid of the extra 20 pounds they put on while carrying their child.  No, most of the makeup and skimpy outfit wearing women are on the hunt for a date.  Maybe if they’re successful, in a year or two, they will be in your position and in need of shedding the excess baby weight, but right now they’re clueless.

You will want to be somewhere that you don’t feel like you have to hold in your stomach while you are in conversation.  And you will also want to find a place where you can feel comfortable in your leggings and over-sized husband’s Nickleback concert tee shirt.  Being contentious of fitness after pregnancy will be all of the thinking you’ll need to do without having to worry about the Miss America pageant that is happening at an over-priced gym.
